Amanda Zamora Crosscut Festival 2021

Session: Women First: News & Politics from a Female POV

12 p.m. Monday, May 3

Getting our news from another angle is critical to understanding the full spectrum on the events, issues and ideas we grapple with every day. Founders of The 19th, a female-forward media organization launched on the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, will host an open conversation about what it’s like to lead a media initiative like theirs and their experiences as female journalists. Amanda Zamora and Emily Ranshaw will be joined by a moderator yet-to-be-announced.

Amanda Zamora is co-founder and publisher of The 19th, an independent, nonprofit newsroom reporting on gender, politics and policy.
